Let's introduce: THE LIBRARY

The LIBRARY of Codarts

At Codarts, students are being trained to become high qualified performers and teachers in music, dance and circus arts. This inspiring place has a great library with an extensive collection in the fields of music, dance, circus, arts education, arts therapies, research and related subjects, which you can use during your study.

Visit the library for printed and audiovisual media or access our online databases which are available 24/7.

On this website, you will find practical info, links to our catalogue and online databases and many tips & tricks to find the information YOU need!

If you want to borrow items from the library, you need to bring your college/staff card, this card is your library card as well.

Books, sheet music and CDs: 4 weeks
Journals: 1 week (the latest issue cannot be borrowed)
DVDs: 1 week
Reference works: may only be consulted in the library

It's not possible to borrow if you have an unpaid late fee of € 5,- or more, or if you have received three reminders for items that are overdue. Your borrowing priviliges will be restored as soon as you have paid late fees and/or returned overdue items.

Books can be returned at the library desk or, outside opening hours by putting them in the book deposit located next to the library entrance.
Returning library items after the due date will result in a late fee of € 0,10 per item per day.

Incomplete returns
Books that include supplements (e.g. parts or CDs) must be returned complete. If borrowed material is damaged or returned in an incomplete state, you will be charged for repair and/or replacement costs.

A couple of days before you have to return borrowed library items, an e-mail will be sent to your Codarts email as a reminder. You can either bring back the items or extend the return date (íf the items are not reserved by another person and you didn't reach the maximum of extending 3 times).

If you fail to return an item by its due date, another reminder is sent to you. If you have not returned borrowed materials after receiving three reminders, you will be charged for the replacement costs of the item(s).

Items may be renewed maximum three times. You can't renew if an item has been reserved by someone else, the other borrower has priority.

Renewing and reserving can be done:
